Dancing With Myself was created by Billy Idol during the 80's. What it is about is really hard to understand if you are listening to it without stopping the song. In my own point of view, the character is traveling the world looking for his true love. Although he is as the song implies he is "dancing with himself". After for searching for a while he is starting to feel lonely and is "dancing with himself" Now he has given up looking up and wishes people can work together which he symbolizes as him dancing with himself or someone else. Now the question is "Why don't we as a society read what we sing". I myself have sang this song without knowing the words. The reason, who knows?? I think the reason was is because instead of reading, we like to listen to real people jamming out on their instruments. Sure you can imagine the same thing with reading, but then you would more concentrated on the song you are making up then the actuall book. There are alot of mysteries to reading, and it will take some time to understand the human mind.
